Wonderful golf course!
Jandia Golf Course的点评
点评：What a surprising and wonderful treat! Visited with my wife on an "outside the box" golf and beach holiday. Stayed at Occidental Jandia Playa Hotel (excellent) and the golf course was a 3 minute taxi ride away. Pre-booked 5 rounds with a buggy across the 2 week holiday. Far more affordable than more recognised courses in Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
The course closed for 2 years during Covid but the hardworking greens team have brought it back really well. Fairways were excellent, greens good (better than they looked possibly!), tees good. A bit of tidying up around the course would help but the course deserves success going forward. The design is testing and challenging but very clever with use of ravines, drainage culverts and man made water hazards.
The first of our 5 rounds was tough - getting to know the course and required strategy. Buggies are pretty essential and, with the course running on a limited budget there are only about 15 available so pre-booking is recommended. No GPS on buggies but the course is on the Motocaddy GPS App which was really helpful.
There is a driving range and an Austrian teaching pro runs an academy using the course and facilities as his base - hence a lot of German golfers.
We teed off around 9.30am each time and virtually had the course to ourselves until later in the morning. What a treat to play like that rather than have to be paired up with a random pair to make a 4 ball!
The clubhouse bar remains closed at the moment as the course re-establishes itself, but the staff in the "Pro Shop" were all very friendly and helpful with a more than adequate range of drinks and snacks. The adjacent Golf Hotel is currently being refurbished and is set to re-open later this year. With that and the fantastic course the whole complex deserves success and to be regarded as a real cost effective alternative for golfers seeking respite from the European winter.
We're coming back next January!
