A strenuous hike not a walk!

点评：I booked this excursion with Holland America and would have loved it except for the fact that the cruise line description didn't explain it was a hike -- they called it a 2 mile walk. I walked for the first 15 min of the walk and it was about a 40 degree 'hike" not a pleasant 'walk'. I stopped after about 15 min. and I ended up coming back down the path to the dock and waited for the others to return. Just too strenuous.
I love bird watching and photographing birds which is why I booked the excursion. The path we followed was mostly pea gravel which made it difficult when we came back down that you feet didn't slip. There were 4 of us waiting at the dock because we couldn't do the hike. The volunteer was great and she walked me back down to the dock as she was afraid I would fall.
I did see and hear some birds while waiting at the dock. The tui, New Zealand Bellbird, welcome swallows, silvereye, and European Goldfinch.. Good birding day but not good for my knee which I hurt coming down and was laid up for 2 days.
No I would not book this again.
