I’m writing this review with deep frustration and disappointment.
We traveled all the way from the United States to Sri Lanka for my son to participate in an international tournament—only for him to miss the event entirely because of Kangaroo Cabs’ utter negligence.
Despite specifically requesting an English-speaking driver and getting a confirmation, they sent someone who could not communicate in English at all. On top of that, Kangaroo Cabs gave him the WRONG destination address. I kept telling the driver that he was headed in the wrong direction (which was clear even on the map), but he ignored me and continued driving—causing serious confusion, fear, and stress as we were taken far off course with no way to explain or redirect.
I tried calling and texting Kangaroo Cabs during the ride—no response. No support. No responsibility. As a result, my son missed his competition, something we had traveled across continents for.
To make things worse:
I had asked for a driver who could accept credit card payments—the driver demanded cash.
None of my requests were honored.
When I explained to the company how serious the situation was and the opportunity they cost us, they did absolutely nothing to make it right.
And this poor experience didn’t come cheap—they charge nearly double the price of Uber, but provide service and support that is far worse. In fact, I felt unsafe throughout the ride. Drivers were rash, well above speed limits, even drove in the wrong lane on the highway, oncoming to traffic at times. It was terrifying.
I immediately switched to using our hotel’s car service after this disaster. It cost me just a little more—but was infinitely safer, more reliable, and professional.
I will never use Kangaroo Cabs again. If you care about your family’s safety, punctuality, or peace of mind—do not book with them.
