The excellent Boat Hire place deserves better for the rates they probably have to pay.

点评：Firstly the good bit - the boat hire. We hired a rowing boat and I would have stayed on the full 30 mins and paid for another go but my grand daughter didn't like being on the water. The staff were jovial and friendly, making sure we were safe and recommending other places in Matlock Bath.
The rest of the park has gone downhill every year. The playground had very little left to play on which meant the playground at the other end of Lovers Walk was too crowded for children to play comfortably. The rocks and caves are sealed off as I assume they are unsafe from not being maintained. The toilets are now closed. This was problematic - young children cannot hang on and walk all the way back through the town to other public toilets. It used to be a big part of our day out in Matlock Bath but aside from the rowing there was little point in taking the children there. Maybe the council are aiming to keep it as a bikers town rather than a family friendly day out.
