Wonderful safari, guide and views around Bel Ombre

点评：The 2-hour 4x4 safari jeep tour was just fantastic. It's a very bumpy ride through the Bel Ombre nature reserve, through beautiful hills, forest, tightly turning tracks, and over bridges and rivers.
We saw lots of fauna, flora, reptiles, birds and mammals. There were hundreds of deer.
Our guide, Lovin was amazing, regularly stopping to tell us interesting facts or to let us take photos.
To see the waterfall, you have to take a walk that requires sure-footedness, because it is a narrow forest path, where you have to be careful not to trip over tree roots, and volcanic rocks, at the at the same time as not walking into branches at head height.
The waterfall is lovely. You can swim there if you wish. We hadn't realised this was part of the trip as we booked on a whim. As we left, there were some people heading towards it, with towels. The water there is clear, but because it is black volcanic rock, you can't see into the water.
As we arrive back at our jeep, there is a drink of sweet lemon juice waiting for us. Perfect timing after the short but arduous walk.
On the way back from the trip, we pass the remnants of the Bel Ombre sugar cane estate. Again Lovin stops to paint a picture of the trade that happened there.
As we breach the hill to return to base, the coastal view across to St Felix beach is spectacular.
This was an amazing experience that we enjoyed very much. We learned lots about the conservation work going on, and would recommend this trip to anyone who is fit and healthy.
