Nice zoo but hot day to visit
旭川市旭山动物园的点评
点评：Maybe if we went on a cooler day we would have enjoyed our visit a little more. The zoo features polar bears, penguins, red pandas, etc. We were able to see majority of them but had to stop and rest a bit because of the heat. The zoo is also laid out on a side of a hill so we started from the top and made our way down but ended up having to also go back up at the end. Luckily half way up, there's a small bus/van shuttle that took us back up to the top.
Interesting to see some of the enclosures as we were wondering how the animals don't try to escape since it's so open. Overall a good visit but dress appropriately, bring an umbrella or a hand held fan and drink plenty of water. We also saw so many caterpillars all over the zoo. Our tour guide said it's the time of the year that brings so many.
