Outer Banks Kayak Adventures的点评
点评：We did the Kitty Hawk Maritime Forest and Marsh Tour with 4 adults (2 seniors + an adult child + friend). Gavin was our tour guide—he was wonderful, very entertaining and knowledgeable and also focused on keeping everyone on the tour safe. This wasn't the tour we initially signed up for (we had preferred the Roanoke one) but due to wind and choppy water, our first-choice tour was cancelled and we had the option of signing up for another one or having our money refunded. We chose the marsh and forest tour.
We saw only limited wildlife (a few osprey and an osprey nest + 2 egrets) so if you are eager to see wildlife, you might choose a different excursion. But the inland waters were calm and shaded so it was a good activity especially for less-experienced paddlers.
Do note: 1.5 hours and 3 miles (the length of this tour) was PLENTY of paddling for both older experienced and younger inexperienced paddlers. Also: it's basically an "in-and-out" trip...you come back along exactly the same route you left on.
We were grateful that there were only two kayakers besides our family on the trip, so a total of 6 people. We passed a kayak group from a different company that had 15-20 kayaks, many with a child and a parent, and that didn't look fun at all! Go for the small-group experience if you can.
