点评：After many a happy time spent walking round Fewston and Swinstry we came here for another walk, to find that you now have to pay for parking. The signage in the car park is extremely user unfriendly, most of the signs simply state that you have to pay for parking and there will be a £50 fine if you dont. They don’t say how you pay or how much it costs. After walking around for a bit I found a blue sign which referred to a parking website or app. I put the website into my phone (which luckily had a signal) and went through the payment process. After I had paid, my wife asked if I had put the car details in. I realised I hadn’t…. It turned out this was a scam website and they had taken money from our account. We spent the next 20 minutes on the phone to our bank who added there had been multiple attempt to take money from our account over the last 10 minutes. Luckily they had noted it as fraud and cancelled the card. We eventually got to the correct website and paid for parking. We did our walk but didn’t enjoy it due to the bad experience of trying to pay. It turns out there is a card payment machine by the toilet block in the car park which we would have used had we known about it!!! There is not one mention of this on any signs!!!!! Unfortunately this experience means we will not be returning to Fewston ever again. We also noted that the car park was half empty where it has always been full when we have been before payment was introduced so it look like a lot of people are staying away! Well done Yorkshire water for spoiling people’s experiences for the sake of more revenue without sorting leaks and polluted waterways. Also the toilet block was closed and there were portaloos which you could smell from across the car park. Surely you should be investing the revenue from parking in improving the facilities not making them worse….
