Wonderful experience for the entire family ages 4 to 74!!
Cenotes Zapote的点评
点评：What a fantastic day. We were staying at a resort in the Mayan Riviera with a family group of 7 ranging from 4-74. Our group has included 2 kids, 1 teen, 2 parents in their early 40s and 2 grandparents in their 70s.
I spent ages looking for a good excursion that would meet everyone’s needs. Our 4 year old is going through a stage where he’s afraid of everything so that eliminated a lot of options. We didn’t want to have the seniors walking in the blazing sun so we skipped the ruins.
Cenotes Zapote with ATV rentals and round trip transportation from our hotel was the PERFECT choice.
We were picked up at 10am and returned to the hotel at about 5pm. We visited 4 cenotes and even though our little guy refused to even stick a toe in the water he had a blast on the ATVs and was able to watch from a safe bench at each cenote. The first 2 cenotes are above ground and have activities. Our teen loved jumping from the highest point at the first cenote and everyone had a blast on the zipline at the 2nd cenote.
The last 2 cenotes were further away so we got to really have fun on the ATVs and those cenotes were both underground. We got stunning photos and it was so cool to explore the caves. Again, there was something for everyone. For those who didn’t want to swim the scenery was stunning and the travel between cenotes was fun.
We were given about 25 minutes at each cenote which was plenty. Our guide was friendly and accommodating though he mostly hung back and let us do our thing.
There were bathrooms at every cenote and even though it wasn’t the hottest day and was overcast, the water in the cenotes was lovely (I’m a huge wimp in cold water and I was fine).
At the end of our tour we had the most delicious authentic Mexican lunch of tacos, Mexican hot chocolate, agua Fresca, rice and beans. Soooo tasty and served by lovely women who were making the tortillas in front of us.
The van for transport was timely and comfortable. It was a long drive from our hotel - about 90 minutes - but it was a pretty drive for the most part and air conditioned. Zero complaints.
I’m so glad we chose this as one of our outings on this trip. It was a highlight for all of us, even the 4 year old who refused to touch the water!!
