点评:Sheerness is a hotch potch. Great to walk or cycle along the sea flood defences. Fresh air in abundance. Try the converted Trinity church for a sandwich or coffee. View from the outside the old windmill in the town centre. Also the town centre clocktower. Limited mix of amusements. As elsewhere run down town centre shops currently being crucified by massive out of town retail developments and internet shopping. Beaches are not much when the tide is in but plenty accessible for pottering about at low water. Wear beach shoes. All of Sheerness has a terrible litter problem near enough everywhere. Parking is very relaxing. By no means everyone's cup of tea but viewed using Nelson's telescope (and he did spend time here) it has something about it which draws one back when wanting a quiet place a bit different. Take with something of a pinch of salt claims of unpolluted beaches - after all the Rivers Thames and Medway both disgorge immediately adjacent. I live in Maidstone through the middle of which runs the Medway so have some experience of viewing this giant waste outfall.
