Very small shrine, many votive ema (votive picture tablet) with wishes about the weather

点评：高円寺の氷川神社の境内にある小さな神社で、日本で唯一の気象に関する神社です。氷川神社よりもこちらの神社の方が有名となっていますが、規模としては気象神社の方が小さく、各地の神社の境内にある末社のように思えるくらいです。そのため参拝路も狭く、大人数での参拝には不向きなので注意が必要です。
神社そのものは1944年に旧陸軍気象部の構内に造営された、非常に新しい神社です。空襲によって焼失し、戦後の再建と遷宮を経て今の場所に建立されました。
小さな神社とは言え独自の絵馬が奉納されており、結婚式等の慶事や運動会等のイベント時は晴れることを願う絵馬を多く見かけるでしょう。
It's a small shrine located on the grounds of Hikawa Shrine in Koenji, and is the only shrine in Japan dedicated to weather-related. Although this shrine is more famous than the Hikawa Shrine, the Kisho Shrine(Weather Shrine) is smaller in size and seems more like a branch shrine within the precincts of various shrines.
The shrine itself is a very new shrine, built in 1944 on the premises of the former Army Weather Department. It was destroyed by fire during an air raid, and was rebuilt and relocated to its current location after the war.
Although it's a small shrine, it is dedicated to its own ema (votive picture tablet), and you will see many ema wishing for clear skies during celebrations such as weddings and events such as athletic meets.
