点评：This is one of several waterfalls that you can see around Skaftafell in the Vatnajökull National Park. It is accessible by way of comfortable hiking trails that start at the national park Visitor Centre and campsite at Skaftafell. The trail is a fairly constant but light uphill walk around 1.5km one way until you reach a waterfall with a charming backdrop of broken basalt columns. The hexagonal shaped columns offer a unique framing of the 20-metre waterfall which you can view directly from the stream below as well as wooden deck platform nearby.
Then continue onward with your walk through the Skaftafell grounds enjoying other smaller falls and very nice landscape. Best to allow a couple of hours for to view Svartifoss but active hikers can probably get in and back out in just over an hour if working with more limited time.
