点评:Located a 2km hike from the Skaftafell Park parking lot, up a wide, flat path (with a fair amount of elevation for someone from a shockingly flat part of the world), this waterfall was worth every step. The views of the surrounding glacier and mountains on the way there make for a pleasant diversion as you trek upwards.
There is a viewpoint of the waterfall at the top where the wide path ends - but then there is another 0.2km trail down to the base of the waterfall, which is much narrower/rockier/more uneven. My friend opted out of that part, and stayed to enjoy the view from up high.
I highly recommend taking the path down to the base of the waterfall if your mobility allows - the views of the basalt columns up close are amazing. It is also less busy down there, and much less busy than the other waterfalls (ie. Skogafoss) that are right off the highway and don’t take any effort to see.
