点评:Having stayed in the Black Isle area on a few occasions, we were aware of Castle Leod and both fancied going. Thankfully we timed our trip to coincide with one of the few days of year it’s open. We had our spaniel with us, we checked at the booth at the car park, the lady said taking our dog was no issue, purchased our tickets and guidebook and headed up. We made it past the next guide who allowed us entry, it wasn’t until we entered the main drawing room that we were scolded by the guide in front of other visitors, and told dogs are not allowed in castle. My partner went back to car and I waited in the room. The guide snubbed me and I felt really uncomfortable in front of the others in the room. There were only a couple of rooms allowed entry to, then on the exit point there was a tea room. We were both in need of refreshment, however the tea room was asking to a builders bothy, it was a case of make your own tea and if there’s cake then you’re lucky. We decided to go elsewhere as the cake looked days old. We both left this experience vowing never to return.
