Lusail International Circuit的点评
点评：We had tickets for Grandstand 16. Unfortunately, seating is unallocated, so it's a free for all. I thought best seats were high up on left side - saw the approach to final corner, the entrance to the pits and the main straight. Big screen too. We missed out on most of the fan zone activities as we didn't want to lose the good seats we had.
We watched F1 first practice from the general admission area at Lusail Hill. I thought the views from here were fantastic.
Queues for toilets weren't too bad - if you timed it right. But, at one point, 2 of the 3 gents blocks were closed at Grandstand 16.
Food & drink wasn't too badly priced. But, apart from at start of day, queues were horrendous. Circuit encourages you to use app to pre-order food, but I couldn't get app to work with a UK mobile number. We bought chicken wraps on arrival at the circuit, when there was no queue, and saved them til later. Free bottled water from multiple locations. Didn't have any hot drinks as there was only 1 vendor at Grandstand 16 and queues were always bad.
Circuit rules stated that food & drink couldn't be brought into the circuit. But, we brought in small packets of crisps and biscuits, hidden in our warm clothing in our bags. I'd say to take your own, but on the understanding that security could take it off you.
It was pretty windy throughout the race weekend and as soon as darkness fell, it got pretty cold. We brought down jackets with us, but ended up buying fleece hats from Carrefour in Doha.
We got our free 3 day metro pass and used public transport to and from the circuit. I thought the organisation of public transport was fantastic. We were fortunate, everything went very smoothly for us. On day 1, Sprint Qualy finished around 21:15. Getting out of Grandstand 16, speed walk to the shuttle buses, bus, metro to DECC took exactly 1 hour. Took similar times for day 2 & 3.
The post race fireworks were set off from the carpark behind Grandstand 16. Visibility probably not great unless you were near the back.
Circuit info stated concerts would start 30 minutes after race finished. Unfortunately, we'd been standing around for an hour before Maroon 5 came on. Sound was good quality, but we left after half an hour as we were fed up standing around and also didn't want to be heading for shuttle buses at the busiest time.
