Unsafe, Overpriced and Completely Disappointing Rental Experience

点评：I’ve been a loyal Pedego owner for years and have always loved my personal bike, which is exactly why I chose to rent four bikes from them for Coachella weekend 2. I paid $720 for the weekend—a discounted rate from the original $960 (or $240 per bike). For that price, I expected a minimum level of safety and professionalism. What I got was a total disregard for both.
Out of the four bikes delivered, only one had a light. The other three had no lights installed at all. And Pedego knew exactly what these bikes were being used for. The store is located near the festival and even mentioned they were sold out because of Coachella. So how do you knowingly send bikes out for nighttime use with no way to see in the dark?
It’s not just careless—it’s dangerous. This is basic safety. Because of that negligence, I ended up not using the bikes at all. It simply wasn’t safe to ride them at night, especially around festival traffic. So in the end, Pedego got paid—and I got four unusable bikes.
This wasn’t a minor oversight. It was negligence. And for a brand I’ve supported and recommended for years, it’s a huge disappointment.
Pedego should be ashamed of how thoughtless this was. If you’re charging nearly $1,000 for a weekend rental, the bare minimum is making sure the bikes are safe to ride. I won’t be renting from them again—and I strongly suggest others think twice before doing so either.
