点评:During our recent visit from out of town, we had planned an excursion to the riverfront. We were made aware by a local law enforcement officer that a trolley service was available, which could conveniently transport us and our dog to the downtown area and riverfront. However, upon our first attempt to board, the trolley operator declined our entry due to the presence of our service dog. He simply extended his hand and signaled a negative response. Fortunately, our subsequent interaction with the second trolley operator was more amicable, and we were permitted to board.
The afternoon was idyllic, and several hours later, we decided to utilize the trolley service for our return journey to the hotel. The operator of the trolley that arrived at our stop expressed his disapproval towards us, once again due to our service dog. The tram driver let everyone out while he was shaking his head and waving his hand no and then tried to close the door which by then my wife's asked why are you doing this- and his response was “I don’t want the beast on the trolley” that’s when I said “she is a service dog” and my husband said he had all the paperwork to show him and our service dog was wearing her tag (just not the harness). The team driver expressed his reluctance to allow our service dog on board. I reassured him that our German Shepherd was indeed a service dog, substantiated by the necessary documentation and clearly indicated by the specific tag on her collar. Despite his initial reluctance, he acquiesced, as he was aware that a refusal was not within his rights.
Nonetheless, the return journey to our hotel was marred by a sense of discomfort. Following this experience, we resolved not to utilize the trolley service in the future. It is worth noting that the rest of our interactions at the riverfront were pleasant. The local community and store owners displayed a welcoming attitude towards our service dog.
