点评：We did the Candelaria Mine Tour, and it was honestly one of the best tours of our lives!
Our guide, Skinny Rambo, was absolutely amazing — a totally crazy guy in the best way possible! He’s full of energy, super funny, and tells everything with so much passion. You can really feel that he’s a former miner — he knows every detail and shares it in such an engaging way.
There was also another guide with us (unfortunately, we didn’t catch her name). Since there were only four people in our group, having two guides made us feel very safe — one would stay with anyone who needed to leave the mine if he/she feels bad. Of course, it’s still a dangerous environment, but we felt as comfortable as possible thanks to them.
The tour itself was incredibly interesting and eye-opening. We talked with real miners, saw them working, and learned so much about their lives and the harsh conditions underground. We even crawled through a narrow tunnel from one mine to another — it was really tough!
Even though it’s the “medium difficulty” tour, I personally found it quite hard because of the dust and the lack of air. At one point, I even felt a bit panicky — but I finished it, and I’m so proud I did! It was a true adventure.
Tips:
💡 Definitely buy small gifts for the miners in the shop before entering — they really appreciate it.
💡 And if you get the chance, buy some dynamite — it’s part of the fun and the experience!
Overall, the whole experience with Koala was simply unforgettable.
