Odeon - South Woodford的点评
点评：I wanted to see the new Bill Nighy film, ‘Living’ and the Odeon was showing it on a day and time to suit me. I usually go to the Vue or Premiere in Romford, but they weren’t showing it.
I’d not been to the Odeon for many years and it had always been a bit run down and shabby back then, but I hoped that the years would have seen an improvement. However I was wrong from the get-go. The ticket price was nearly £10, whereas the Vue is £6 and the Premiere is £4. They are both multi-screens with far more modern and better facilities. I went to the ladies toilet before going into screen 2. I found that the toilet seat was broken. It had obviously been reported to staff, who’d not bothered to indicate it was not safe to use as there was no sign.
On entering Screen 2, I noticed several seats were covered and not safe to sit on. There was loud music playing over the trailers so patrons could not hear any dialogue. This was reported to staff in reception.
Then, after the film certificate was shown on screen, nothing happened. No film! We were subsequently told that the film hadn’t even been sent to the cinema and the screening was cancelled!
Everyone received a refund, but the staff were very matter of fact and not unduly bothered about the inconvenience.
The cinema should closed down or given a major makeover. It’s tired, dated, shabby. The staff are not bothered about ensuring their patrons have a good experience.
