点评：No big complaints about the beach.. on a good day it’s probably, at its best mediocre, but we were there on the hottest day of the year on a bank holiday at the beginning of half term.. we got what we expected! Overpriced cafe, no ‘facilities’ and Absolutely Packed!!
It is the parking that really P***ed me off!! Basically there is very limited parking spaces / car parks available and very narrow roads in and out of town. Fine, it’s Devon, I get that. … But! the ONE & ONLY stretch by the beach where (about 30!) cars can comfortably park and not block the two way traffic is.. guess what.. double yellow lines. Once the Very Very limited car park spaces are full people, in desperation, start parking on the double yellows and then who should appear but the traffic warden. We were told by a local that the warden observes and then moves from the top of the hill to the bottom in 2h cycles. The local was right! I parked on a dbl yellow next to only four other cars.. 2 hours later I got back to a ticket and another 28 cars all ticketed and none of us 29 cars actually blocking the road.. I would suggest that this is a huge money making scheme for the local council. There is absolutely no reason this section of road should be double yellow lines but for the fact they know tourists will park anyway because there is no where else to go! it is the only bit of road in about a 2 mile radius that is actually wide enough for cars to comfortably pass each-other (with the parking available on one one side…). Clearly this council does not like tourists, which I totally get! we are bloody annoying .. blocking your roads, tramping over your countryside and paying extortionate amounts for parking, chips and ice-cream.
I wouldn’t bother going back there. The UK is full of wonders, this is not one of the exceptional ones and certainly not worth stressing over a parking spot for.

我以后不会再去那里了。英国有很多美景，但这里绝对算不上其中之一，更不值得为了停车位而费心。
