A fantastic black sand beach with a DEADLY risk.
Reynisfjara Beach的点评
点评：A fantastic experience, one which should certainly not be overlooked.
Reynisfjara is a beach with pure black sand, an impressive array of basalt columns near to the shoreline and basalt caves. Reynisfjara actually being one of the filming locations used within the Game of Thrones series.
A great place to gather some seriously impressive photographs! But please be aware that Reynisfjara is NOT a place twhich should be underestimated; countless people have died at Reynisfjara over the years after being swept out to the ocean; the authrorities have as such introduced a traffic light system to advise visitors to the beach. Be extremely careful on the beach, especially if visiting with young children; the ocean water is extremely powerful and sneaker waves are DEADLY. NEVER turn away from the ocean waves and always be aware especially if with young children.
The first visit was during an Icelandic orange weather warning for high wind, wind gusts were recorded near to 40mph and this made it very difficult/dangerous to move around, especially with the beach traffic light system flashing red.
The second visit was more successful, with the beach lights flashing amber. I attach some photographs.
Happy travels but STAY SAFE.
