点评:My sister-in-law and I quite enjoy taking a day here and there to explore the various wineries in the Niagara Region and in doing so we do our part to support the local economy. I had stumbled upon this winery online and had felt in my heart of hearts that we were going to discover that Leaning Post Wines was a hidden gem. Unfortunately, this was not the case. Although the staff were very pleasant and friendly, the winery just didn't have the bright and inviting vibe we are used to. Our purchase on that day was The Fifty Chardonnay 2021. We both felt that the price point was just a little higher than others but none-the-less, we made a purchase. Over-all the taste of the wine was enjoyable. However, the last pour caught us by surprise. At the bottom of the glass were yellow strands that appeared fuzzy; on touch, the blob was granular and looked gross. Needless to say it was dumped (wasted). I emailed a photo to the winery and left a voice message. A day or so later I received a return telephone call from a friendly staff member informing me that the residue is harmless tartrate crystals and, as well, that they do not fine filter their wines. My sister-in-law and I agreed that this experience was a first for us both. While it was said that this residue is not harmful we have become aware that perhaps we should be asking some of the smaller wineries about their filtering process. I certainly would never want to gift someone a bottle of this wine and for them to have this experience.
