Strasbourg's Most Natural Square

点评：The highlights of Strasbourg are its churches and places (squares). This is one of the those top 5 Places that you must see. In many ways I think it is at least the second best if not the best, partly because its setting is so different. This is the main Place of the Neustadt, which is so completely different than the old city of the Grand Ile. Most of the other main places are in the Grand Ile and as such are much more developed with hard man made surfaces. This is a Place with a lot of green, natural amenities like trees and flowers where the Place of the Grand Ile are more about the buildings and commercial amenities that surround them. Again, I loved all the places (squares) of Strasbourg and this may have been my favorite because it was different. If you visit the Neustadt and its attractions like the Palais du Rhin or city library and/or theater, you will be visiting the Place de la Republique, the best park in the Neustadt. Finally, I love the name the French give it after all this is the park of the German Empire, built during its occupation. While the square is still surrounded by public buildings, the French have turned the way the park is viewed with this name change which is an interesting side note.
