点评:Window on the Waterfront is both park and garden. It has a nice, long walking / biking path that parallels the river, with lookout points affording you a wondrous view. Picnic tables and benches dot the path, so taking a break from walking is an easy (and oftentimes, welcome) thing to do.
On the east side, the path goes downhill toward the water, eventually leading to Windmill Island. From this vantage point, you'll see tons of red-wing blackbirds that have made their homes among the cattails. In the spring, there are wild buttercups in abundance as well.
During Tulip Time, this area is planted with several thousand tulips and is a showplace. The paths between the tulip beds are sod, so may be difficult for people with mobility issues, but the flowers are very visible from the paved paths. This area also hosts food trucks during Tulip Time, so you can eat on the go.
Kids will enjoy the small play area that is in the park. There are boulders to clamber over, and a rock wall with hand-holds that is made for climbing. The area has a deep sand floor for safety and comfort.
Window on the Waterfront is just two blocks north of the downtown area and right next to the Amtrak station. It is an easy walk from Hope College or any of the downtown hotels.
翻译:Window on the Waterfront 既是公园又是花园。
Window on the Waterfront
