点评:When I went a few months ago this fantastic church and cafe was NOT closed (tho it had closed for a while for refurb) but it was very empty. The trust which runs it unfortunately did not keep the very interesting local craft market. or the community vibe. I hope since our visit the place has managed to keep going as it has so much to offer. The church is deconsecrated but beautiful, well restored and historically interesting so it is a shame that the new approach is focusing on letting the central space out for occasional events. without the bustle of the market, visitors have to walk across a huge empty solemn space to reach the cafe, and if there's nothing else happening and nobody eating, this can be a bit intimidating. There's no sign of food or people eating from the outside, plus the church sits on a traffic island, and therefore you have to wait to cross the road and can't just pop in to check it out. Sadly it is more relaxing and sociable to just go to one of the other cafes in Marlborough. I hope the Trust wakes up and tries to find a way to bring people in and keep them coming day to day again, preferably with a craft and produce market offering something different from local shops.
