Memorial Acte的点评
点评：The Mémorial ACTe is the Caribbean Center for Expressions and Memory of the Trade and Slavery. This huge museum tells the story of slavery and the slave trade and is very poignant. You receive an audio-guide which explains the exhibits. I spent three hours in the museum and was fascinated by the exhibits.
Unfortunately, photography is prohibited. But I bought the museum catalogue to have a permanent memory of the exhibits. The exhibits begin with the history of slavery and the slave trade. You learn about the journey from Africa to the Caribbean. Other exhibits detail the life of the enslaved people. You see some of the ways they coped and the traditions that arose. You learn how slavery was abolished and the legacy of slavery. There are also many artworks that were inspired by the stories told in the exhibits.
This is a museum to be explored in depth. The audioguide was very useful. Visitors need to reflect upon the exhibits. It is a story that needs to be told.
