I would recommend you stay away from Sanibel Island!

点评：There was another review on TripAdvisor for Bowman Beach on Sanibel Island as well. It reflects what I discovered the hard way on tarpon beach. I was eating alive by no-see-ems
And just as the other reviewer wrote about Bowman Beach I have hundreds of bites all over my legs. I could tell the little gnats were buzzing me, but I had no idea until the middle of the night when the itching was driving me mad. 2 days later I am covered with bites and nothing seems to help the itching. Not itching creams not allergy medications like Benadryl. The itching is horrific. I hope it doesn't last 3 weeks as it did for that other poor reviewer.
Overall Sanibel Island was very unremarkable. The beaches were pretty crappy, and most of the place was pretty run down. I hate the fact that I am covered with hundreds of itchy bites for spending a day at a beach that wasn't worth it. In fact I find most of Florida to really be crappy.
