Allen Memorial Art Museum的点评
点评：My wife and I decided to visit this little college museum and greatly enjoyed the hours we spent there. first, the architecture of the building should not go unnoticed. The exterior looked dignified and historic, but the inside was well- arranged for displaying art of all types. The entrance and 'classics' galleries remind me of museums in Europe, with gilded frames and closely displayed images. The more modern section was brightly lit and streamlined, with the focus on a diverse and comprehensive collection of art and sculpture. We spent more time in the modern section that afternoon and saw the art of Y Kusama, A Gorky, and Frank Stella among others. I now know the entire collection at the museum is quite renown, and plan to go back in fall 2024 to spend more time with the Asian, European, and early American art on display. The size of the museum is very manageable for a short visit, but exploring the collection it holds could take a half day or more. As an Ohio native, I am sorry I had not visited sooner. Happily, I can return easily and often. I feel the Allen Museum experience in Oberlin would compare fairly well with the art museums in Cleveland or Akron, perhaps even some better-known museums in other, larger cities.
