点评:This is a very pleasant excursion, although it is quite remote and the only shelter in the parking lot is under some trees. We took a cab from Sligo (about 70 Euro each way) - there's probably much cheaper ways to get there. I'm not in great shape and it took me 25 minutes to get to the caves from the parking lot - fairly steep section with climbing and stairs. The steepness wasn't an issue for me, but the flat part through the field and up to the stairs was slick mud in the rain and that was more of a concern. Wear good shoes that can get dirty. Having said that, my teens did the hike in 20 minutes in their Crocs :-)
The caves are fairly plain - no stalagmites/stalactites, but a beautiful view and it's interesting to think about the people who have used these caves over the centuries. Also, most of our Ireland trip was in urban areas, so it was refreshing to be in a quiet spot with few to no people. Apparently if you dig further into the caves. you can find bats and perhaps other items of interest; we didn't go digging too deep.
Note, this isn't a picnic spot - there isn't a garbage can and you are on private property; it's just a nice walk. We were on site for 1.5 hours and that was more than enough to hike up and down and poke around the caves.
