Absolute World Towers的点评
点评：A pair of voluptuous Mississauga condo towers share something with Hollywood’s most famous blonde, and they’re one of the world’s best skyscrapers. The two buildings, 50 and 56 storeys each, are part of a five-building development project.
The taller building had been nicknamed the "Marilyn Monroe" tower due to its curvaceous, hourglass figure likened to Marlyn. They’ve got her sky-high curves and many international admirers. They’re awarded the prize of Best Tall Buildings in the Americas in 2012.
Their undulating shape was the designed by Beijing-based architect, Ma Yansong. He entered an international design competition hosted by the tower’s developers and was awarded the project in 2006.
The building represented constant challenges. In most towers, all but two of the floors are exactly the same, but here none of them were.
The Towers added allure to the skyline of the suburb no doubt but the people living in them were not amused in the least. They felt that these are Pretty on the outside, but structurally, the other residents and infrastructure were atrocious.
“I remember when it started, I couldn’t sleep, because I was afraid we wouldn’t get it,”
“And then we got it, I couldn’t sleep, because I was wondering how we would solve these structural problems”, averred the developer.
Now the residents couldn’t sleep because of other problems there. So Monroe still keeps people sleepless…
