Perfect Day, Perfect Captain, Perfect Tuna

点评：From start to finish the trip with Bob was a great time. It was our first time Tuna fishing, so we had a lot to learn. But, Bob was a perfect teacher. We started the morning just off the Isle of Shoals to start our bait fishing. Lines dropped in and within minutes we had our mackerel. From there we went off about 20 miles offshore to start setting up for the main event. First a bit of ground fishing to catch some bigger bait, while Bob and my friend got the lines ready. Goal achieved we got the lines in the water and then it was a waiting game.
Mind you it was a perfect day, calm waters, light wind and then there were the whales. Humpbacks everywhere...which Bob said was a good sign. Tuna were jumping, and so was our anticipation. We had a bite early, but we lost him. After a couple hours we got some action...but it was a pesky shark, so we caught some more bait, and then back at it. Bam....two bites at once.....and bam, two more sharks....we all started to dislike these guys...taking up our time while there was a happy tuna out there waiting to come home with us....
It's 1pm now, and spirits were starting to drop...even at this point however, the day had been worth it. It was a perfect day, and we got some fishing action. Bob was still optimistic...he read the signs and still had a good feeling about this....we moved to avoid those pesky sharks and dropped the lines again. As i was reeling out the last deep line....the sound of a whirrring line screamed off the back deck. Everyone on the boat went to work as Bob had so perfectly orchestrated.....and the hunt was on.
After a 40 minute fight....our patience was rewarded and we caught a beautiful (keepable) Bluefin.
Perfect day Bob, perfect day. Thanks and we look forward to next year.
