Lovely church and Mass
St Peter's Catholic Church的点评
点评：Very sweet, charming church. We were looking for a place to go to Mass in Iceland (which is predominantly Lutheran) and as luck would have it our itinerary brought us near Akureyri for Sunday, and Mass was at a 10 (enough time for us to stop at Godafoss first).
It was a really beautiful experience getting to say prayers in Latin, Icelandic and even some English. A nice homily about the importance of justice and care for the poor. Fr. Jurgen was very kind and we even got to chat a little afterwards as they had coffee and treats afterwards due to the Corpus Christi feast.
The church itself is small and simple, but reverent and sweet. It used to be a house, and Mass used to be in the next door rectory, but they recently were able to convert the house into a church. I also recommend the nearby botanical gardens!
