点评：We had an amazing experience with our guide José A. Huertas (along with Captain Adrian and Lionel on the boat). José quickly understood that we had already seen a lot of Costa Rican wildlife. He asked if we were comfortable with a faster pace and then expertly focused on finding the special species we were still hoping to see, rather than spending extra time on animals we'd already encountered (like monkeys and trogons).
Even before reaching the National Park, José made sure we stopped to see a Cocos Booby colony from the boat, and we paused again for dolphins. Once in the park, the day was rewarding: we saw Baird's Tapir, an anteater, sloths (of course), all the monkey species, and bats.
Although our bird list was already extensive, José managed to spot a few more species for us (not the flashiest ones, but exactly what we were looking for). He was energetic and efficient with the spotting scope, taking photos of nearly every species we observed.
José was attentive, cheerful, and easy to talk to. We truly couldn't have asked for a better guide!
Highly recommended for anyone looking for an efficient, knowledgeable, and enthusiastic wildlife experience.
