Nice park, frustrating camp check in process

点评：A beautiful scenic canyon, well maintained grounds, clean restrooms, nice trails. Very windy. Downside - using the campground. The reservation system makes it nearly impossible to get a space. All sites are reservation only, so if you just show up you have to use a weak wi-fi system (no cell service) to get on the park reservations system and find an unreserved spot. It is a very cumbersome system - seriously 11 "quiz" screens select the pictures with cars, bridges, bikes, etc. If you step out of the wi-fi zone and lose the signal you have to restart. And then although it was evening and half the campsites were empty, it only showed two sites available. Another camper trying to do this process at the same time as us gave up and left. We got a reservation for one night as there was nothing available for the second night. The next day there were still multiple empty spots; someone leaving told us he had reserved more than one site for friends who didn't show, but they were all leaving early so there were multiple reserved, already paid for sites. I suspect there are a lot of no-shows, and absolutely no first-come first-served pay-on-site system. The camp host would only refer us to the wi-fi kiosk. So beware....there are very few places to camp along that section of the scenic byway, The camp site booking and check-in system needs improvement.
