Dorchester Curiosity Centre的点评
点评：As we were in Dorset & I was at a loose end, I went to a couple of 'antique' shops in Dorchester for a few hours.
Unimpressed by a visit to another establishment nearby, things hardly improved here.
The store is a vast area & full of what seems to be rejects from car boot sales. Lots of chipped ceramics of varying quality, musty old clothes, book & records. very little in the way of better antiques like silver, jewelry, watches, etc.
There was a huge amount of 'brown' furniture of varying quality, much of it wobbly reproduction & Ikea! There were even one or two Georgian items that had been 'upcycled' or as I prefer to say, ruined.
I only found two items that warranted the term antique furniture, both of exceptional quality, a linen press & a naval chest.
Only good point, plenty of free parking on a rundown industrial estate.
