Cici & Hyatt Brown Museum of Art的点评
点评：I was absolutely blown away by this museum!!! I'm not sure what I expected when I heard "Florida art", but it definitely wasn't this! I had a little time to kill before I had to be at the airport to fly home, and decided to stop in. I'm so glad I did, and I will definitely be back every time I'm in the area. If you enjoy art, you will love this beautiful museum. The quality of the art on display, the framing and description cards, and the building are all first-rate. I've been to many of the top art museums in the US and Europe, and this museum compares very favorably! The subject matter is all Florida, as depicted by famous and lesser-known but very talented artists over the last couple of hundred years. The art and museum are the passion project of the couple for whom the museum is named, and all the art is from their personal collection of 2600+ pieces.
I only had an hour until closing time, and while I had a chance to see everything, I would have preferred more time to read all the painting descriptions and linger at some of the spectacular pieces. You could spend anywhere from 15 minutes to 3+ hours here, depending on how "into" art you are. I highly recommend a visit here!
The icing on the cake for me was that the Browns' themselves happened to be there as I was leaving, and I had the opportunity to speak with Mrs. Brown, who was so lovely and gracious. They have given a wonderful gift to their community, and this is a true gem in Volusia County.
