Kayak capsized due to missing safety plug

点评：We had a tour to Hong Island that included kayaking and experienced a serious safety issue while self-paddling. The stern drain plug of our kayak was missing, which allowed water to enter the internal hull during use. Over time the kayak became increasingly unstable and eventually capsized, even though the water was calm.
Fortunately this happened near a small beach where we could get to shore. Other parts of the island are surrounded by cliffs, so a capsize there could have been very dangerous. The kayak was heavily filled with water, so it was impossible to climb back onto it in open water. After reaching shore, a large amount of water drained from the kayak.
This should have been checked before the kayak was given to us. We were surprised and concerned, as the situation could have been very dangerous further from shore.
Luckily my phone was in a waterproof pouch (thus blurry photos), so I was able to call the company and they came to pick us up by boat, as we could not continue the route by kayak.
