点评：Hallstatt is wonderful and lived up to expectations. So pretty and a must see !
Using Panorama tours out of Salzburg was a convenient way of getting there plus the 8:15am departure from Salzburg means you get there before the crowds.
BUT….,
With Panorama tours be prepared to put up with the most inane, banal and idiotic commentary the whole way with a tour ‘guide’ who needed to express every thought that entered his head in an unfiltered way. If you don’t mind misogynistic stereotyping, having IKEA pointed out, Construction sites and roadworks highlighted and long winded boring explanations of sites as you whizz past and don’t stop to see them, you will be fine .
Also, if you’re not upstairs you won’t see much .
That said, the village organises bus tours well with the drop off at the edge of the village at an appointed time. Pick up and departure from the same spot is strictly timed to cope with the number of buses.
The info given by the guide about the boat trip was wrong . For the record : the boat departs at 11:00 and each hour afterwards from the dock near the Protestant church in the village. First stop is the dock where the bus drops you so you can get on there. Round trip takes 40 mins back to the bus stop (timed to meet your 12:10 departure) or 50 -55 minutes round trip to the main dock near the church.
