点评：This is a heritage property situated on the banks of Periyar river flowing through Aluva.It is constructed in the traditional Kerala style of architecture by king Maharaja Karthika Thirunal Dharma Raja around 1900 during the reign of the Chera kings of Travancore. This was later taken over by the Government of Kerala and now it is managed by Kerala Tourism Department.
This Palace used to be the summer residency of the Travancore royalty. Over the years, this Palace has been the halt for many including Prime Ministers, Chief Ministers, film actors and many other dignitaries.
It is overlooking the river and the famous Sivarathri Manappuram. On the other side is a beautiful and sprawling garden. The buildings and the garden had been the venue for many film shootings also.
The rooms are quite large built in traditional style and the tariff very reasonable compared to hotel rooms. There are not many rooms and one risk of booking this place is they may cancel the booking suddenly if any VIP is visiting.
Food will be served if you place an order. There is ample parking facility.
