点评:Of the several archeological zones around the town, I think this one was my favourite. We almost found this by accident, but it’s a large site with some fantastic ruins.
It’s free to enter so well worth hunting down, and it’s never overly busy.
There’s a Roman road, a beautiful chapel area (which you can’t enter but can see through the barred windows), a stunning mosaic and evidence of dwellings and other parts of Roman life.
There were four lots of pillars over the left side at one time, sadly only one set remains standing, but this doesn’t detract in any way. There’s a big stone arch which is very impressive, as is the huge mosaic which is protected and undercover. Well worth a look.
We went back here a couple of times, and found it very peaceful and interesting. We even found a wild tortoise, so watch where you’re stepping - some of the wild grass is quite long!
