I was a solo traveller from the UK on a motorbike expedition and decided to spend 10 days ( initially 3 days) at the Island Safari Lodge in Maun. Found out too that Island run a mobile tour around Botswana so extended my stay to head in to the game park with the mobile team.
This was glamping at its finest. The detail that went in to ensure I had the best experience was astonishing. The food, which was cooked in the bush remember was similar to that found in top quality restaurants. The sleeping arrangements, the game drives, the staff engagement and commitment to making ME feel special was outstanding. It was not about seeing every animal but more about the “bush experience” that stood out. A special mention to William our guide as he was determined to make everything special.
