Great for novices. Fabulous host!

点评：Very helpful and relaxed vibe on arrival. Juan was friendly and chatty throughout. The horses are definitely safe, even for beginners and the terrain and landscapes through the national park kept things interesting.
Great for beginners or novices who just want to get out on a horse and enjoy the countryside. However, this is not great for experienced riders. The horses only trek and are not schooled so you can't "ride" them per se. They just want to trek literally with their noses up eachothers bums and go at the pace of the horse in front, with a loose rein.
I rode Robby, who was beautiful but hated being at rear of ride and was constantly jogging and pulling at the bit, despite me having a loose rein. I felt I had to shorten the rein to prevent him constantly jogging and grabbing at the reins, which was quite uncomfortable. He relaxed once he was in the middle of the group. Even for cantering, he did not respond to even a light contact in his mouth as he was wearing a snaffle and had a very hard mouth, so I eventually gave up and just let him canter right up the bum of one in front and wait for them to slow at other end 😅 it felt very unnatural.
Only other negatives were that a couple of the horses were very underweight, the tack was dirty and my horse had a loose shoe from outset (which came off during ride).
We did the 2 hour ride. I would recommend it for a relaxing ride for beginners, but this is not the place for anyone who wants a responsive horse that listens to the rider. Juan was happy to take pictures and videos, which is always nice.
My novice-y husband enjoyed lots of canters with a small group of experienced riders, so if you are mixed abilities, the horses are good enough to go out together! 🩷
