Perfect for a book lovers solo break
Gladstone's Library的点评
点评：My husband had booked me a three night stay over May bank holiday for my birthday. I sorely needed some rest and a break from stress at work.
Staying at the library made me feel like a medieval nun! The rooms may be basic, but the building is spectacular and the way the staff look after you is comforting and caring and allows you to simply work or relax as needed.
I ate in and the food was delicious and well prepared. The wine list was well priced. The honesty bar was an enjoyable experience but either the tonic needs to be in the fridge or an ice bucket was needed - absolutely my only criticism of my whole stay!
The continental buffet breakfast was a good mix and all freshly prepared.
Beautiful walks nearby and a coop about a mile away for essentials.
I wish it was a little closer to me so that I could visit more often, but saying that the distance made me feel very much as if I’d had a proper break away. I will definitely return, but for now I drink my tea, looking at my mug and chanting “Gladstone’s library is my happy place”
