Nice Monastery (with strict no photo policy) but even nicer Cafe next door!!

点评：My wife and myself are currently holidaying in Skiathos (staying at the excellent Skia Premium Executive Apartments - Review to follow) and earlier today (making good use of the most user-friendly local bus service - fares were Euros2.20 per person each way) we visited the Monastery of Evagelistria.
It is set in its own (well maintained) grounds with an abundance of lovely flowers. Besides the Monastery itself, there isn’t a great deal to see and I was puzzled why a strict no photograph policy was in place in the Museuum where there were a number of interesting artefacts on display.
The Monastery’s Store is also well stocked and most of the constant stream of visitors we saw were going away with a little something.
Probably the best feature, however, was the Athos Cafe next door (Review to follow) and I would certainly encourage any visitor to the Monastery to spend some there - they won’t regret it!!
