点评：Context: I brew, have brewed a bit commercially, I know a little bit about beer and how it should taste.
And at this place I had a beer that astounded me. Stupid Sticky Fingers, a Barrel-aged stout, was an experience all its own. THE best beer I've ever had is Toppling Goliath's Assassin. This beer was every bit as good, and is now tied for first.
This was a remarkable experience. Musky Bite was a treat, capturing the top of the tongue, the sides, and leaving a lingering flavor that was just...nice.
And Buck Wild--made with whole hops--was amazing. It's seasonal (whole hops!) but if you can get it, get it.
I had seven beers, mostly in a flight, but each one was quite good. I look for off-flavors in beers and there were none. The process was, as near as I could tell, flawless.
Had a nice conversation with the production brewer and unlike many places where they won't talk to you for fear of divulging their "secrets," he was quite forthcoming. I have my own hop yard, learned a couple things about that from him. And they don't care if you know the recipe or ingredients; process matters, and unless you can duplicate that, the recipe won't be repeatable. But that's just how brewing is.
This might well be the best brewery I've ever visited. Lovely atmosphere, great bartender (willing to share knowledge), great brewers...It almost makes me want to move to Woodruff. And I'm leaning that way.
