Fun tour— but the owner/s are dishonest operators that have been ripping off customers

点评：To preface this review, during the actual tour, I had a blast. The staff are really wonderful and do a great job making sure everyone has a great time. The basket boat staff were really kind, friendly, and fun. And the chef was hilarious. Unfortunately though, I must give this operator a one star, because the people running the tour are unethical liars that, by chance, I discovered have been ripping off many tourists, and almost ripped me off as well:
The hostel I stayed at gives out the company’s brochure detailing the tour to the guests. On the front of the brochure, the listed price for the tour was 575,000 dong. Before I signed up via the hostel, some friends I made at the hostel asked me if I wanted to join them on a similar tour at the same time, which they booked through a vendor they saw advertised on the street— and for only 370,000 dong. Concerned of the quality of their tour, I decided to sign up with what I thought was the more reputable, safe option: through my hostel with Cam Thanh Family Tours. To my surprise, all of us were picked up by the same van, did the same boating activity together, and then did the cooking class together as well. When I returned to the hostel, I notified the hostel staff of the large price discrepancy between what I had to pay and what my friends had to pay, for the same exact tour. The staff then contacted the owner of this tour, with whom they had worked for many years and had taken for an honest man. He explained to the staff that really my friends had paid a much higher deposit and that they were in fact charged a similar price to me. This seemed strange, as my friends showed me a picture of the sign advertising the tour for 370,000 dong and insisted that that’s what they agreed to pay. When pressed by the hostel staff on the phone, the owner also tried to initially claim that there was a 40% sale for those that booked on the street. However, my suspicions were confirmed when the friend that paid for the others came down to the lobby, and showed us that she received many missed calls from the tour company, as well as a text asking her to lie to the hostel staff and claim that she really paid much more for the tour because another guest was upset that he was charged more. The hostel staff then called up the owner again, who now had nothing to say for himself. At least he had the dignity not to charge me at all for the tour.
It’s a shame, I had a lovely time, but the owner is dishonest, and has probably been running his scheme on other hotels/hostels for who knows how long.
