点评:A quite perfect gem of a museum, both fascinating and charming, and worth every penny of the paltry entrance fee of £6.50. Run by volunteers, it is housed in a tiny lovely church which still has the original gallery and pulpit. The beautifully curated exhibition tells of life in Ullapool through history, with well written explanations, and wonderful photos and exhibits, including an extraordinary huge quilt made my local people, depicting local scenes. Other delights include the group of handmade figures of the herring women, and a wooden picture showing people emigrating on the Hector in 1773. Things for children to do (tying a sailor’s knot, etc) are a thoughtful addition. There is also a little shop selling nice postcards and souvenirs. A must-visit in this pretty port on the shores of Loch Broom.
