As the information board located on the sea wall will tell you, this large terrace was made after 1948, when an earthquake made the Villa belonging to the Petrone family unsafe and had to be demolished.
To the south it gives great views of Spiaggia di Castello and the Monolite Pizzomunno that dominates the north end of the beach, and to the north the views of The Church of Saint Francis at the end of the headland are spectacular. It sits on the Vieste Promenade which is a fantastic sea facing pedestrian walkway that goes right round the old town.
