点评：Saint Vincent College is a private Catholic Benedictine College founded in 1846 by a monk from Bavaria. It is a liberal arts school that sits on about 200 acres 40 miles southeast of Pittsburgh in Latrobe, Pa. the home of one of golf greatest players Arnold Palmer. We visited the centerpiece of the college, the Basilica of St. Vincent Archabbey, built in the late 1890's. It towers over the countryside, and the inside is stunningly peaceful and beautiful. This was the 1st Benedictine monastery in the United States and is the largest. It is tucked on a hillside a mile or two from downtown and part of the campus is surrounded by corn fields and there is a very old cemetery on campus we visited for a burial.
The campus is small and compact with about 1,400 students, and they offer 50 undergrad degrees and a few graduate programs. As a D3 school they have 25 sports teams, and the Pittsburgh Steelers use their faculties (Chuck Noll Field) for summer training camp.
