点评：The museum is a series of 18 rooms, with subdued lighting creating an appropriately somber atmosphere. Each room addresses a different topic from the war, in a broadly chronological order.
All theatres of WW2 are covered in the museum, but not equally, with the main focus on the war in Central Europe told from the Polish perspective. So, some key turning points in the conflict (e.g. Pearl Harbour and the Normandy landings), receive little attention. However, the museum does cover in some detail the appalling atrocities suffered by the Polish population at the hands of the Germans and Russians, which is both thought provoking and profoundly upsetting.
The audio guide is essential to fully appreciate what you are seeing, and exploring the whole museum took us nearly 4 hours, This requires considerable fortitude, as much of the content is relentlessly harrowing. If you need a break midway through (as we did) there are no refreshment facilities inside the museum itself. However, when asked, the staff at the entrance turnstile allowed us out to visit the cafe in the reception area, with a paper wrist band provided to allow readmission.
